Speaker: Han Wu, EPFL Lausanne Title: Effective Subconvexity Bounds for GL(2) Venue: B1044 Time:   16:00-17:30, 16 Feb, THU Abstract: Following Jacquet and Langlands' interpretation of L-functions in [1], Michel and Venkatesh used smooth functions in an automorphic representation to establish subconvexity bounds in [2]. We present a method based on [2] to give explicit and effective subconvexity bounds, which coincide with the Burgess' bounds in the classical cases under the Ramanujan conjecture.
